Impact of "Print Spooler" on Qlik Sense and

Hi team, 

My IT team has informed me that they are going to turn off "Print Spooler" print services in Windows Server where Qlik Sense and NPrinting is installed.

They need to turn off the print services on the qlik servers this coming week as it's a security hole. Once wan official MS patch is out for it, we can turn it back on.

How much potential impact of disabling print services?

I'm not familiar with their core functions. For example, would it prevent our NPrinting servers from generating PDF reports?

Hi,

Only QlikView entities reports are still using the Qlik NPrinting server print spooler. All other types of reports do not need the local server print spooler to be generated.

We should only need to have the print spooler running on the Nprint server that runs the engine, correct?

Can we shut it down on the web scheduler?

Hi,

The print spooler is needed only if you create QlikEntity reports in PDF. All other types of reports do not need it.

Hi,

Sorry I forgot to mention that, if you need it, the print spooler that need to remain active is the one on the computers where you installed the Qlik NPrinting Engines.

our IT teams also wants to deactivate the print spooler. We are currently using Qlik NPrinting (Version February 2025) in combination with Qlik Sense. Which report types need the print spooler?
