Hi,
A customer is trying to build a QlikEntity Report from Qlik Sense on prem, but can't seem to find the object id in the list of the available objects.
It looks like there is a hard limit on how many objects the interface can show in the drop down menu when creating the report, and we're not able to search for anything beyond the last value in the list.
e.g. in the screenshot you can see the list ends with object id "8*******" something, but we know as a fact from the application interface that we have many object ids starting with "c****".
Do you know of any such limitation? How can we work around this limit?
I am not aware of any object caching limit, although from my practice I am usually very careful regarding the number of objects I have in apps used with NPrinting.
I am assuming you are pointing with the connection to correct app, object is in base sheet as a best practice, there is no section access which could potentially hide this object based on connection used to generate metadata and indeed you have regenerated metadata.... Also what kind of object you are trying to add (base object/extension/3rd party extension?
I know that there was a limit on number of cached field values, but not objects (I may be wrong)...
Have you tried to see if this object is visible in any other template (try to add it as object in excel template)
cheers
You can only export chart objects that can be exported such as tables using Qlik Entity report. Those should always appears in the dropdown list.
@Frank_S we're well aware of the limitations regarding object types, unfortunately it seems that we cannot see the full list of object ids that are available also in the QMC.
@Lech_Miszkiewicz we'll give a shot at using a different type of report just for the sake of trying, even though we need that native QlikEntity-to-CSV format.
In an Excel report we can get the objects:
meanwhile here first we have a spinning wheel:
then we can't find any of these:
@francesco_menin - and those are not pivot tables by mistake or objects with conditional columns (show column if) ?
I can confirm the object is a table and doesn't have any conditional columns, also in other reports we are able to use other tables in other QlikEntity reports from the same sheet.
have you tried pasting whole object ID when searching?
@Ruggero_Piccoli - can you look into this?
Yes, that doesn't seem to have any impact on the process.
Ciao Francesco,
I suggest you to open a support case with the app and the IDs of some of the objects you can't see so we will check. Add also a reference to this conversation.
Be also sure you are using a version of Qlik Sense supported by your version of Qlik NPrinting.
Ruggero
Ciao Ruggero!!
My colleagues have done just that today, I think it's going to be a while because the source QVF file size is ~13GB.
