Qlik NPrinting

Hi all,

We are currently upgrading our QlikView and NPrinting environments. QlikView from v11.2 to v12.4 and NPrinting v16.1 to v19. However, we are staggering our upgrade so we want to temporarily have QV v12.4 connected to our current NPrinting v16.1 setup.

Does anyone know if this will cause any issues with our existing reports?? From what I can tell from certain qlikcommunity threads is that this is possible, just not officially supported.

QlikView 12.4 is not supported for use at this time with any version of NP 16 (as  you already indicated). It is also advised that you do not upgrade QlikView prior to migrating to NP 19. This is also mentioned in the article above https://support.qlik.com/articles/000086526.

Why is it recommended to not upgrade QV prior to NPrinting?? I am curious about how it can 'introduce unexpected problems and issues in the NPrinting Migration process'.

So would that mean that the conversion of our NPrinting reports will be easier if we have a QV 11.2 / NP 19 setup and the converted reports will run fine on an eventual QV 12.4 / NP 19 setup?

The above is important information that applies to migrating:

• Individual reports without using the migration tool that comes with NPrinting November 2019 release. (It seems based on your earlier comments that you are using this method to migrate). https://support.qlik.com/articles/000029513

or

• All reports, connections, tasks etc. using the migration tool that comes with NPrinting November 2019 release. https://support.qlik.com/articles/000086526

In both cases you need to ensure you are running NP 16 SR 3 before attempting to migration.  However, if you are using the individual report method, you may upgrade QlikView as indicated in the migration help page.
