Nprinting Tasks become hanging randomly

HI All

Would you please shed any light on the Nprinting issue below?

Background: Nprinting version 16.1 ; Qlikview version 12.0 ; Windows Server 2012.

Our business has at least 7 Nprinting reports to be issued hourly , and most of time they run fine and emails issued successfully . However occasionally one of them would just become hanging and disrupt the following schedules.  I don't think there are any issues with settings/configurations etc, as they normally run fine, but it always encounters a setback in couple weeks of time without a set pattern.

As below the example (Nprinting Log), the task was stuck at 'Message Run Task' and hanging forever until we restarted the service. In terms of the Qlikview reports, they are not massive - quick to execute.

Please let me know any issues. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

you are running unsupported configuration - see matrix here: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting-Documents/Requirements-for-QlikView-NPrinting-16-x-x-x-...

you have 2 options:

First option:

  • upgrade QlikView to version supported by NPrinting 16.9
  • and upgrade NPrinting to version 16.9

this solution is just temporary as NPrinting 16 is officialy out of support anyway.

Second option:

Suggested solution would be to migrate your NPrinting to version June 2020 or whatever will be the latest available. Make sure you study documentation as there is precise list of requirements which you must meet to successfully migrate. This will also require upgrade of QlikView version

Hi  Lech, many thanks for the reply.

Will definitely have a look at the option of upgrading.
