Nprinting excel spreadsheet - Conditional Formatting

Hi,

I would like to get an assist on how to make the nprinting excel spreadsheet to pull the conditional formatting colors as same with my Qlik sense app table. I want the colors to display same as below picture attached. I want the cell background to use colors as we get values.

Your help is appreciated.

@Thabang231

1. drop your Nprinting level tags for a specific dimension on to the template ("year" dimension level for example)

2. drop your table tags between the levels

3. perform conditional formatting on the tags between the levels.

A quick test shows that it works. Greater than 10.000 green. Less than 10000 light red.

Kind regards..

Hi @Thabang231

1. Best practice is to use excel conditional formatting as that allows you to get best possible result. That obviosly is excel functionality so it is outside of Qlik

2. Image - dont even go there with tables, they will look ugly, blury, fonts will be different than rest of report, you will not be able to scale it nicely and you have no control over how many rows your table may need (if variable number of rows is required). Image is really the last option I would ever consider as results are poor.

3. If your colours need to have custom expression to create format you may need to create aditional columns in Qlik Sense which will output what format your cell requires. Then you can use that cell value in excel to apply excel based conditional format. You can also hide such column in excel so they are not visible but are used for formatting purpose. I use this method all the time to create P&L style reports where font style, background and borders have to be dynamic.

4. With excel formatting you will need to disable "Keep source format" for whole table/all individual columns so that excel format can be applied.

cheers
