Hello everyone,
I happen to have a case in which a customer is moving everything they have in Qlik CM to Qlik Cloud and also the reports they have in NPrinting. Additionally, they have quite a lot of reports in different formats, and I know that the only alternative to create reports in Qlik Cloud, for external users, is the reporting module included in Qlik Application Automation. They do not quite look the same, however, but it is what it is. Is there any best practice to carry out this migration? Are there any known real cases of this matter, and what was the outcome? Any documents, articles will be of use!
I look forward to hearing from you soon
Thanks a lot!
@rolmontero Unfortunately, there is no migration path between NPrinting Reporting and Qlik SAAS (Cloud) reporting as they are completely independent reporting platforms.
Please see the following KB article for more details

Hi @rolmontero
To start - Watch this whole video to get understanding where you are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ml3kg4gD2gk
I as a Qlik Partner always warn clients that replication of NPrinting reports is not possible and that all reports will have to be rebuild from scratch using different methods. That is our role as Qlik Partners to send that message very clear to clients and manage their expectations.
With the currently available reporting solutions migration success rate is very low. Capabilities of reporting service and automations are very limited vs NPrinting and even as someone who has fair a bit of NPrinting/Qlik experience I was not able to migrate my customers to SaaS reporting solution simply because more complex reports (which 99.9% usually are) dont have equivalent in SaaS.
The good thing is that there is a lot on the roadmap which will change quite a lot in this area. I would just say that it would be much better for you to wait little bit longer with migration as things happening in this area will make a lot of things much easier. If you could push back that migration say towards the end of the year - beginning of the next year - then I think we may have much better tools in hand.
To be clear - I am not promising anything - I am "guesstimating" when some features which I have seen prototype of during Qlik World this year will be released to public.
cheers
Lech
@rolmontero that is a brilliant reply
