access Nprinting externally through public dns

Hello,

I need some help clarify the steps to take to access Nprinting externally through public dns on port 4993.

we already have a the certificate installed and and resolving dns e.g. externalurl.com. Nprinting works fine internally https://internallink.com:4993/#/dashboard  .

I have updated the Web Console URL and NewsStand URL under admin >>>settings  to reflect the  https://externalurl.com:4993/  and externalurl https://externalurl.com:4994/

When I tried accessing the external link I get a This site can’t be reached error.

The Nprinting server version is :

Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR1

Version: 25.5.5.0

Thank you

Hi,

This seems more a DNS configuration issue than a Qlik NPrinting issue. You could try to reach Qlik NPrinting from an external point by using its IP address: if it works the issue is related to the DNS configuration.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi @Ruggero_Piccoli ,

I have tried using the public IP and it returns the same site can't be reached error.

Is there any other configuration that needs to happen on the Nprinting side? Because the local host url is still working although I changed it in settings to the public dns url.
