inherit in NPrinting the value selected in the app for a variable

Hi everyone,

in a Qlik Sense app I can select a value of a variable using an Input Variable object. So the variable XXX takes the value AAA.
However, if I create a Word report in NPRinting in which some objects use the value of the variable, I can't inherit the value selected in the app for the variable.

Is there a way to make NPrinting understand that it must use the value of the variable selected in the App? Also because it is a report on demand.

Thanks all.

On-Demand reporting

You cannot create connections to Qlik Sense apps that use the following if you are generating On-Demand reports:

  • Variable selections used from input buttons as triggers to select data
  • Input boxes
  • Calculated dimensions
  • Hidden tabs

Hi @licciardello

This is very well know limitation and it was always there from the very beginning of NPrinting.

The workaround is to use field based selectors (for example data island field) which can be used to alter variable value. I recognise that this solution does not allow for free text to be implemented but it is closest you can get if you use variables to toggle measures or similar.
