What's New - November 2019 Product Demonstrations
As we continue to lead with cloud, this release provides more reasons for our customers to use Qlik Sense in SaaS and cloud environments. We have expanded our portfolio of connectors for cloud editions of Qlik Sense including SAP SQL Connector, DropBox, and Google Big Query – which has been updated to support the new BigQuery Storage API. You can also witness new “My Qlik” improvements around subscription and account management; driving a better experience for our customers - allowing them to easily adopt our SaaS offerings. We are also delivering SOC 2 Type 2 certification, which supports the customer journey to Qlik’s SaaS offerings, and our ability to confidently meet the compliance requirements of our large enterprise customers. This release brings new visualization capabilities that broaden the analytics capabilities in Qlik Sense. We have added a new Mekko chart - commonly used to capture all aspects of a given measure.
Additionally, we have added an accumulation option in our bar chart, line chart, combo chart, and table – with the ability for an accumulation to be made over the whole dimension or within a finite number of steps.
This release also delivers new table styling options, giving the user more control over the look and feel, and 2 Dimension Trellis container to handle more complex charting needs. Many of these new visualization capabilities will be of interest to our QlikView customers, as they look to increase their Qlik Sense usage.
For mobility, we have now introduced offline mobile support for our Android mobile app. Qlik Sense Mobile for Android now has the same capability as our iOS app, allowing users to download their apps and explore data interactively when offline. It features a local version of the Qlik Associative Engine running on the device, supporting full exploration and search.
We continue to improve our enterprise reporting capabilities for new and existing customers. This release includes the highly anticipated Qlik NPrinting 16 to Qlik NPrinting 19 migration tool, which offers our customers an easy and automated way to migrate content. This provides a path forward for our Qlik NPrinting 16 customer base which is scheduled to EOL the first half of next year. We have also delivered new feature enhancements, including variable-based filter support to provide an easy way to dynamically filter report content, and have improved on-demand reporting for more flexibility and extensibility in Qlik Sense.
The Qlik Sense November 2019 release now includes the ability to run QlikView apps in cloud editions of Qlik Sense, making it easier for QlikView customers to modernize their analytics. Users can consume QlikView alongside Qlik Sense through a common hub and infrastructure. This is a key step in setting the stage for infrastructure cost reduction, deployment simplification and significant reduction of entitlement management challenges for our QlikView customers. At this time, Phase 1 of 2 is available; currently, QlikView apps must be uploaded manually or via a supplied utility. Phase 2 will include changes to QlikView so the upload of apps to Qlik Sense is automated.
Other notable release improvements include improvements to the management console in Qlik Associative Big Data Index, and Qlik license service integration for Qlik Insight Bot.
Beyond data analytics, we are also pleased to announce improvements to our data integration platform with the next Attunity release – version 6.5. This release provides significant performance improvements and expanded connectivity including Salesforce and MongoDB data sources. Attunity 6.5 also includes new data target platforms, such as ADLS Gen 2, Azure Databricks and Google BigQuery, which increase our customer’s flexibility to choose the solution that best addresses their data and analytics needs.
