We recently released updated functionality within the QlikView Governance Dashboard and the Qlik Sense License Monitor to provide greater insight into QlikView app characteristics and license usage for customers leveraging Dual Use Licensing.

The QlikView Governance Dashboard now includes a new Sense Profile Score, which gives customers an easy way to determine how compatible and convertible their QlikView apps are with Qlik Sense. This supports planning and implementation efforts of app migration from QlikView to Qlik Sense. The Qlik Sense Profile sheet displays the following scoring:

  • User Adoption: How frequently and how recently each app was used (grading based on the past 90-days)
  • Object Density: Number of sheet objects by sheet in the QlikView app (more than 12 may be difficult to re-create in Qlik Sense)
  • Object Compatibility: How many sheet objects in each app are not compatible with Qlik Sense.
  • Sense Profile: A composite score comprised of weighted User Adoption, Object Density, and Object Compatibility scores.

Plus, Unused Sheets by app indicates which sheets you should consider removing before re-scoring and prioritizing for Qlik Sense migration. And Custom Configuration of profile scoring provides a threshold and relative weight within each component of the Sense Profile Score. You can find the QlikView Governance Dashboard on the Qlik Download Site by logging in.

The Qlik Sense License Monitor now allows Administrators to holistically monitor their Qlik Analyzer and Professional license consumption across both Qlik Sense and QlikView. This gives organizations the ability to answer questions such as, “Are we running out or licenses?” or, “What is the history of usage?” A bonus is that this is done at an aggregate level, which is in full compliance with GDPR regulations on personal data.

These capabilities signify another milestone toward bringing QlikView and Qlik Sense closer together. By supporting Dual Use Licensing and providing a unified license key, Qlik is driving toward a one user, one license, one analytics experience vision culminating in the delivery of a single access point for both QlikView and Qlik Sense.

Visit the Qlik Monitoring & Administration community group for further discussion on these topics.

More news to come later this year. In the meantime, visit the QlikView Customer Resources web page for more information.
