We’re excited to announce a new capability in QSE SaaS that allows users to better understand the origin and journey of any dataset within the catalog. Data consumers will now have more trust in the data as they can easily understand the complete history of a dataset. This includes which applications are using this data as well as identify any new information derived from this dataset. Data engineers and data stewards can now easily identify the overall usage of a dataset and could use this information to troubleshoot issues such as identify potential duplications.

Qlik introduced the Hybrid Data Delivery Service at the end of June 2021 that automatically ingested on-premises data into your Qlik Cloud tenant, cataloged the data sets and transformed them into QVD’s that were ready for consumption by Qlik analytics apps. What’s more, those data ingest pipelines could be configured and scheduled through the Qlik Cloud UI without the need for hand coding or scripting. If you missed the news or need a refresher then click here for an in-depth review of the architecture and features.
However, our developers haven’t stood still since the launch of the new service and have been beavering away extending functionality, improving performance, and adding new data targets (more of which I’ll cover in a future post). With that in mind, the remainder of this article focusses on one feature in particular: Hybrid Data Delivery Service Event Auditing.
Our data integration enhancements include simplified data lake creation, improved data warehouse automation, and platform integrations. Changed data propagated to data lake landing zones can now be optionally viewed when current and transactionally consistent leading to accurate, real-time insights. We now add Databricks Delta Lakes on Google’s platform to our ever-expanding list of supported data lakes. With support for a significant number of entities, automated datamarts can now support more comprehensive analyses. A single user interface to track Compose workflows across lakes and warehouses eases management, while tight integration of ingestion processes from one or many Replicate data pipelines to transformation and provisioning processes automate and speed data delivery to consumers. Lastly, ingestion and transformation of semi-structured data within Snowflake bring in new data sources.
Today we not only released several new SaaS enhancements but also released our client-managed August 2021 products for Qlik Sense and Qlik Compose further extending our end-to-end offering.
