MSSQL 2012 and 2017 - Always on Servers

Does Qlik replicate reads the log files from distribution database to pull delta changes for MSSQL as source end point ? Want to understand how Qlik uses TLogs and creation of distribution database plays role here.

And i need to use different MSSQL servers .

MSSQL 2014 - Looks like distribution database for this version could not be placed in an availability group. Does this mean 2014 SQL server configured in an AG could not be replicated using Qlik replicate tool ?

MSSQL 2017 - whether distribution database could be placed in AG for 2017 MSSQL version and use it for Qlik replication ?

Replicate can use a local distribution database set where you define a distribution database on each replica. The distribution database is only used to store configuration information as Replicate does not use subscribers.
