Trying to connect to S/4HANA

We have a use case where we want to access a S/4HANA from Replicate. I currently select SAP HANA as the source and get the error code:

"SYS-E-HTTPFAIL, Cannot connect to ODBC provider.
SYS,GENERAL_EXCEPTION,Cannot connect to ODBC provider,RetCode: SQL_ERROR SqlState: 08S01 NativeError: -10709 Message: [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] Communication link failure;-10709 Connection failed (RTE:[89006] System call 'connect' failed, rc=10061:No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (....)"

When I use SAP Application I get the error code:

"SYS-E-HTTPFAIL, ID:FL Type:E Number:046 /HTG/GC4R_ZGETSYSTEMINFO (ErrCode = 5).
SYS,GENERAL_EXCEPTION,ID:FL Type:E Number:046 /HTG/GC4R_ZGETSYSTEMINFO (ErrCode = 5)"

However, on the SAP machine the transport files are missing - is this the reason why it fails and if so which source is the correct one?

Hello thank you for posting to the QDI Forums. For the issue you are seeing you this looks to be related to the IP and or Port trying to access the Source environment as shown from the error. If you are setting up a new Endpoint please ensure you have the proper information for the Source Endpoint. See the below Help Link for connecting to a SAP HANA Source and the Prerequisites for the setup. Please let us know if you can also connect to the same SAP HANA setup using HANA Studio.

Note: The SAP Application Endpoint requires the SAP Transports to be installed on the SAP environment to use with Replicate but looks like you need SAP HANA.

Qlik support provided the following information:

SAP Hana can only be used directly as an endpoint if an SAP Enterprise license exists.

If there is no Enterprise license there are workarounds such as SAP Application, which uses an SAP module as an interface between Application and the underlying Hana DB.

It must therefore be clarified whether a corresponding license exists.
