Can Qlik Sense write and read .QVW's?

I understand that Qlik Sense is capable of reading and writing .qvd's without an issue, but I'm interesting in hearing what people have to say about Qlik Sense's ability to read and write .qvw's. I know it's possible for QlikView to write a .qvw and Qlik Sense can read it if you convert it to a .qvf, but all of the UI contents are lost. That's less than ideal...

Ultimately, I am trying to save the UI in a Qlik Sense application as a .qvw to reuse in another application's UI, all in the same Qlik Sense server. There are several things on the front-end that need to transfer, including master dimensions and calculations in dimensions.

Thanks for any advice!

Qlik Sense can binary load a qvw, which will pull in the table model, but not the UI.  I know that's not what you asked but I wanted to clarify that item.

QlikView and QlikSense cannot currently "share" UI elements.  The Qlik Sense Dev Hub does provide a simple tool that converts QlikView UI elements (Dimensions, Expressions->Measures, Visualizations) into Qlik Sense UI.  But it's not fully automatic, it's a workbench/design tool that always requires some tweaking after conversion.

Thanks Rob!

I'm only working with Qlik Sense, and I think you've indirectly answered my question. I'm gathering that there is no way to share a UI from one Qlik Sense Application to another Qlik Sense Application. Is that correct?

Hi Ashley,

Using the Mashup facility, you can assemble applications using visualizations from other apps.  Are you going to Qonnections?  I'll be doing a session on integration & sharing options for Qlik Sense.

Rob Wunderlich,

I'm not able to go to Qonnections! If there is any available content that you could point me toward, that would be great!
