I have a line chart where I would like to show about 15 lines, where I want the user to be able to set some variables which causes most of these to be filtered out. My first idea to implement this was changing the measures so they don't have any values if a variable has a certain value.
However, there are some problems with this approach:
- the hidden lines are still shown in the legend, which makes it more difficult to see which line represents which measure
- for a given selection, the lines show significantly less data points than they would when I create a new graph containing only the lines shown. I would guess there is some maximum on the number of data points shown, and the lines that are not shown take away some of those points.
Is there a better approach to create such a chart?
