How to do Section Access type of implementation for Qlik Sense web?

Hi,

We have Qlik Sense Enterprise, and we are looking to add some of the charts etc from the app to our internal website.

In our Qlik Sense app we have Section Access implemented.

How can we ensure the same type of restriction to data user can see happen when we share some of the objects and charts on to the website?

Section Access is data restriction.
I.E Restricted users would see maybe 10 company codes instead of 50.
Object security needs to be implemented from QMC security rules.
You'd need to select the app, Object name etc
It would just give them error but not literally make the object disappear.

Hi,

My question is about the data restriction at the point of accessing it on the web page.

Let's say Section Access is already doing that for our Qlik Sense app accessed currently through the Hub.

How can we restrict the data they see on the web page based on who they are (e.g. user ID)?

Section Access for an embedded object works the same as when the user views the object on the hub.  You don't need to do anything different.  The exact same security, including user authentication, data reduction and licensing applies when using an embedded object.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply.

So in such a case, when the logging into the said website do their login details need to be the same as supplied in Section Access?

Is there any special configuration required when embedding Qlik objects into a webpage for this? Other than instructions like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILwpviS6CQ4

They do need to authenticate to Qlik Sense using the id you are expecting in Section Access.  So if they can login to your web page using the same windows credential, that would work.

No special configuration required See here for current doc:
