Is it possible to transfer an app from the server to the desktop client ?

I would like to be able to take a portable version of a Sense server app home.  IE transfer it to the desktop client, work on it and then import it back into the server.

Is this possible ?

Yes it is possible.

You copy the .qvf file from the server where it is published.

I see you first need to export the app you require from the server (off the QMC \ Apps \ More Actions menu)

Otherwise the qvf file is obfuscated and can not be found anywhere.  I think the app sits in an encrypted form when it is loaded on the server.

Gartyh is correct.  The best way to export an app from the server is to go to the QMC and click the export option.  If the app uses images and/or extensions, those images will have to be exported separately.
