Hello! Happy New Year!
Need some clarification/help from the forum:
I have QS 3.1 installed on main PROD system and I am porting my applications from QS 2.2 Environment to the new PROD.
There is the bug in 3.1 (QLIK-69321) that causes Measures and Color options in Map objects to be corrupted during applications' migrations/import. The workaround suggested by support was to recreate these Map Objects....
I am trying to do that, but I've noticed that a Measure option is not available now when I am creating a new Area Map Object on the sheet:
Here is how creating a new Layer works in QS 2.2:
This is how it looks in QS 3.1:
No Measure option available for this type of Maps (!!??). It's available for Points Layer, but not for Areas Layer...
Based on Help, for Area Maps you can add Measure for master items only.... But even if you have manage that (considering a usefulness of this "unnecessary" step) this new Measure only works for coloring... No numbers formatting is available.
Here I was trying to display % values:
And yes, my Master Measure is defined properly:
I would REALLY appreciate some suggestions about what I am missing here!
Regards,
Vlad
Thank you, Michael.
Really appreciate your involvement.

Vlad
Hi Timo / Vlad - I got confirmation that these bugs (#1 and #2) are being fixed, and that eventually GeoAnalytics will be part of Qlik Sense without an additional charge.
in regards to 72410 - I was told:
"It seems that the customer was using functionality in a way that was never designed for, but it worked for them, now that we’ve added the extended color by functionality it no longer works the same way and so seems like a degrade to the user. Doesn’t look like that will be fixed. "
So the work-around is to use the input

Michael,
Thank you for update. At least some positive news (about #1 and #2 issues) and "free" license for new mapping object...
But I could not agree with "It seems that the customer was using functionality in a way that was never designed for..." statement.
Here is how the chart's options look like in QS 2.2 vs QS 3.1:
The "Measure" option was there, it's not like I've used some hidden feature......
I really do not see a reason why this option was removed....
It has created a serious issue with my app's release because I cannot format the data values per requirements....
But thank you for following up....
Really hope it will be resolved at some point....
Regards,
Vlad
Got a reply from support about the case:
"R&D has returned and stated that unfortunately, at this time, this bug will not be fixed. There are plans to overhaul the map feature in the future, but there is not an exact timeline on when. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you"
VERY disappointing...
Vlad
Thanks for the update Vlad - I spoke with the leads in R&D as well and they made mention, just for clarity:
"It was not removed, it was moved to the colors section. But because the color section doesn't support number formatting they can't show exactly what they want. This is an unfortunate side-effect of adding the color-by feature."
They thought about moving it back, but it then would make the maps harder to color and they needed to choose which feature served more use cases.
Just for clarity, can you still do what is needed by using the Measure input in the color section:

When you apply a measure for the sake of 'color by', the hypercube for the that map does not have any measures. Is there a workaround that would allow the hypercube of the map to include the measure info?
