Qlik Sense 3.2 Converter Tool error 500

Hi,

I've been trying since the release of 3.2 to test the Converter Tool with a few qvw files I developed for customers.

No matter the file, the size or the contents the error  is always the same:

How can I check the errors?

What might be wrong?

This is probably a case for Qlik support to handle... I've used a tool few times and it worked well so far...

How big is your QVW file? Try to reduce the size and see if it helps in conversion...

As much as I would like to think the problem is the filesize, I tried this with 1MB QVWs, 20MB QVWs, 300MB QVWs.
Is there any logfile or anything I might try?

Repair installation doesn't do much.

I think I was able to isolate the problem.

I converts everything but Visualizations.... It displayed the Error 500  every time I've selected a visualization item...

Will follow up with support about it... I've found several references in log files as well. Will investigate it...

Actually on a server installation it works fine so it seems a Desktop client problem

Hmm....

Completely opposite scenario in my case: it fails on my 3.2.0 Server installation...

do you know if it generates any logs on the Desktop version?

Have tested several applications' conversions and I am completely puzzled now....

It fails randomly....

I thought I've located the case when it failed every time after I've selected the Visualization to convert...

But I've tested few other QVW files and it worked for most of the visualizations...

It failed couple times on specific components, but after selecting/unselecting visualizations and generating/updating applications it started working for ALL UI components...

REALLY WEIRD....  Need to take a break and test it thoroughly tomorrow... Will keep you updated...

I am also facing same issue - The Converter tool server responded with an error 500 - while converting a qlikview app to qliksense.

Not much changed since my post above - the converter works most of the time, and I did not spend much time investigating why it fails occasionally...

I am waiting for "June 2017" (aka 4.0) release to try it there.
