Qlik Sense User Rules

Is there a way to allow some users to add/change master library items (Dimensions Expressions and Visualizations) yet not allow them to get into the script?

Maybe you could point me to the resource that "clearly" defines this granularity for me?

Thanks so much.

Hi Aaron

I think I understand what you want to do, we also want to do similar limitations.

According to the 3.0 documentation, the resource filter that governs access to scripts is the same as for sheets, dimensions, bookmarks etc namely App.Object

Available resource filters ‒ Qlik Sense

So I don't think it is possible to have a separate rule for scripts, unless there is some undocumented resource filter for it.

Please keep us posted if you find a solution!

Hi Aaaron

we're facing the same challenge.

It is not really possible I think, since the user needs a working copy of the app to be able to do that, and then he/she can see the load script to.

see Publishing ‒ Qlik Sense

We worked around it by having the load script logic in an external document and then just include it in the apps load script, see Include ‒ Qlik Sense

So the user can not see or change any of the load script logic

Once the app is published to streams, user can not access Load script..

And only owner of the app can duplicate the app published in the script.

So maybe I should clarify.

I wish to create an admin role, that is similar to content admin, but cannot access data load editor (cannot access the script).

So this would only apply to apps in the Work stream.

I think this is possible but I don't know which rule attributes would do this.

As per my understanding it is not possible.
