Hi. You cannot drag and drop data files to the script. Go to the Data Manager instead.

Hi, thanks for the reply,

I am not dragging the file into the script editor, I'm talking about the screen that pops up when you create a new app.

It sais you can drag files into it to add them, but it doesn't work

Hope it is clearer now

hi there,

I have the same problem,

couldn't find much help on the forum or google

what I did find is a workaround

By default, Qlik Sense Desktop runs in a window of its own. But you can also open it in a web browser.

if you open a dataless/new app there, you can use the drag files feature.

here how to do it (from qlik help)

******************************

You must log in using Qlik Sense Desktop before you can open it in a web browser. (it has to stay open in the background)

Do the following:

  1. Start Qlik Sense Desktop from the start menu.
  2. Open a (supported) web browser.
  3. Type http://localhost:4848/hub in the browser address bar.

Qlik Sense Desktop opens in the web browser, showing the hub with all your apps.

************************************

until a solution pops up this can work

 edit:

I'm sorry, I just checked it and it's not working there either 😞

seems we are stuck with using the script or data manager

Hi ,

This reply is a little late and possibly not quite your issue, but one thing I have just discovered is that if you try to drag and drop a file from a zip folder it doesn't do anything like you said, but when you move the files into another normal folder drag and drop suddenly works. So if you can't drag and drop files check it is not in a Zip folder. The same applies to manually adding files, it doesn't seem to let you select from a zip file.

Hope this helps someone.
