Hi
I am not able to use the standard OLE DB that I use in
my QlikView script .
is it possible to use it in personal edition of the sense
thanks
gidon
You can create a connection to a db e.g. SQLServer via OLEDB , just get into the Data Load editor and use create connection , select OLEDB and specify the type of connector.
Hi Paul
Tried that and got this error
The following error occurred:
CONNECTs other than LIB CONNECT are not available in this script mode
Paul I am using the personal edition just downloaded and tried
I use same command I have in my QlikView docs which work great
gidon
Hi David,
I'm not sure what is happening to your setup.
You should be able to create a connection happily as per below. Did you have any success with actually
obtaining a connection, perhaps you can post a screen shot here.
Unless there is a problem with the install, you are running QS 2.1.1 I assume ?
Maybe de-install and re-install again, a long shot. I've not had connect issues at all.
Paul
Hi Paul
thanks for your rapid response
a new connection is working
I will try to re-install the sense and let you know
thanks
gidon
Great
Hi
I have tried it does not work
gidon
Ok I need to know more, step me through what you have done exactly and screen dump any errors you have had, also what is the config of the PC you are installing on.
Earlier you said "a new connection is working" so, at the risk of being confused, what is the series of events leading to the problem overall?
thanks
Paul
Ok Paul
I have a working qlikview doc , with OLEDB connect that works fine
I copied it to the sense , it does not work I get the error I sent an hour ago .
when I remove the OLEDB connect from the script . and define a new connection it works fine .
I have lots of QlikView docs with OLDDB connect statement that I want to use with sense .
this is my story
thanks
gidon
Ok, you cannot use the connections for QlikView in QlikSense, they are different beasts as far as connection strings are concerned. As you say your new connection in QS works fine, I recommend you create new connections via the data loader. I understand you would like to preserve the QV objects, but alas you have some
re-work to do there.
Cheers
Paul
