Qlik Sense Cloud Business data connectivity and refresh

I'm looking into Qlik Sense Cloud Business as it is said that you have auto data refresh.

Question I have is...unless you are connecting to SFDC or one of the Qlik DataMarket Connectors - ie any of your own data, then the process of adding the source data to the Qlik Cloud is still manual?

So let's say you want to display your company sales data in Qlik Cloud Business then you will have to export the source data to file (xlsx, qvd, csv, etc) and upload these files manually to the Qlik Cloud every day, but you can then schedule the Qlik Cloud Business to reload your new data automatically.

Is my understanding correct?

I'm having the same problem, here I have to publish manually. Scheduling is not working properly as it should. I hope they adjust this quickly because it's complicated.

Re: Qlik Sense Cloud Business data connectivity and refresh

Hello Jarno and Leandro - thanks for your question.

Yes - currently that is the process - we are working on automated file transfer solutions, but I do not have a time-frame yet. Connectivity and file management is a big focus this year for Qlik Sense Cloud. We released the SF connector with the launch of QSCB and we are soon releasing the REST connector for QSCB.

One possible solution, in the interim when the REST connector is available - I believe a file placed in dropbox etc. can be read with the REST connector. That way you would automate your upload to dropbox using whatever tools are available - and then schedule the refresh with QSCB where the app is using the REST connector to read the file data. - Just a thought. I'll be playing around with that idea with Qlik Sense Enterprise and I will let you know my findings. HTH

Thanks Michael!

I'll sit down with the team to try that way.
