sFTP Connection

Hello Experts!

I'm starting to work with Qlik Sense Cloud Business and I have to connect via sFTP to a server (with username and password).

With Qlik Sense Desktop and QlikWebConnectors I've been able to do it, but the generated string is not compatible with Qlik Sense Cloud Business:

http://localhost:5555/data?ConnectorID=FileTransferConnector&table=SFTPGetRawFile&host = .....

The documentation redirects me to the own documentation of QlikWebConnectors

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-cloud/Subsystems/CloudHub/Content/LoadData/connect-data-sources.ht...

Is there any way to create a connection with another syntax?

Thanks in advance

Re: sFTP Connection

Hello experts!

In the end we managed to solve it: we made a script in python that accessed the file in sFTP and exported it to a table in a specific database.

I've already seen that PostgreSQL and Oracle already have ODBC in beta in Qlik Cloud

Thanks again

Re: sFTP Connection

Hi Victor -

Just to be sure - I see localhost in your domain on the URL - are you attempting for Qlik Sense Cloud Business to connect to a resource on itself? I assume not as your resource is not located on our hosted cloud servers - or is it? You would need to change the localhost domain to the appropriate named of the server you are looking to connect to.

Please clarify and I will attempt to further assist.

Re: sFTP Connection

Hi Michael, thanks for your time.

This connection string is working with Qlik Sense Desktop and QlikWebConnectors:

http://localhost:5555/data?ConnectorID=FileTransferConnector&table=SFTPGetRawFile&host =

I'm trying to set up the connection with Sense Cloud Business, but I can't find right way to do it.

I've tried something like that:

http://sftp.company.comSmiley TongueORT/data?connectorID=FileTransferConnector&table=SFTPGetRawFile&host=sftp.com...

But it's not working.

Thanks again

Re: sFTP Connection

Hi Victor - no problem, happy to help.

I see - thanks for the clarification - Qlik Web Connectors on Qlik Sense Cloud has been implemented differently than on on premise installation. Not all the Web Connector that you see in the on premise installation of the package are available with QSCB - and as you can see in the data connector dialog (available from the create connections button when in the Data Load Editor) - these are the ones that are available (screen shot below). They also have their own GUI implementations so they can grab data in a standard manner similar to other connectors where in the on premise installation in generates script that you paste into the data load editor - this also requires you to run in non standard mode (legacy mode) which is a way to use the older data connection method on your server - which is not supported on QSCB.

What specific connector are you using?

I am assuming this one:

based on the URL you are using - that particular connector is not part of the QSCB web connectors package.

You may be able to get this to work with Web File - however there isn't any security with Web File:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/February2018/Subsystems/Hub/Content/DataSource/load-data-from-file...

let me know how you do - and I can see if they plan on adding this FTP/SFTP to the list.

Re: sFTP Connection

Thanks for your help, Michael.

I have to look for alternatives to this situation because the issue of security is mandatory.

I've seen that the ODBC connections with Postgre and Oracle are relatively close, is there anything planned for FTP / sFTP?

Thanks again

Re: sFTP Connection

Hi Victor thanks for the update - I apologize for the delay - I did not see this update when it came in. At the moment not at this time. I have added it to our internal ideas system.
