We have username, password, department, etc information stored in our Oracle Database and would like to use this for User Directory.

We are not sure the connection string to be used and failed several times, any advice on this procedure?

Thanks!

It is UDS connection string issue. There has been too many post on this but there is no clear protocol on what is needed.

Hi Vineeth Pujari,

We read your link several time but this is not our issue. We are able to connection to Oracle for reporting. What we need is the authentication information to be stored in the Database for easy management. We tried using various connection string recommended from the community but they all do not work. We output the information to Excel, we managed to get it loaded into the user list but this is not authenticating. We checked with our supplier and escalated to Qlik, we still do not have an answer after months.

How do small company that do not have active directory to use Qlik in this case?

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Exception when trying to connect to the data source. Edit the connection string in the user directory connector configuration

The UDC is not operational

Using Excel, no error. Just that the Password is not used for authentication.

There is no resolution in this at all as Qilk took the easy way out to ride on other authentication engine such as AD or server users. Reading in data from database is possible but still unable to authenticate. Perhaps a program to simplify server user management is a better options. We do not have time to venture into this as we need to realise ROI of software purchased and should revisit this when time permit. Do let us know if there is any available solution know.

Thanks in advance.
