How to add load 300 users into QMC Users list and (ideally) allocate them a license automatically?

Hi,

In our Qlik Sense environment, we already have a AD group in User directory connectors. Our users typically click on a link to the Hub, after which they are shown in the Users tab.

We have to add 300 users to the Users list in the QMC and grant them a license.

Clearly this is long winded if they have to follow the process above.

Is there a way we can load 300 users in the Users list and then automatically grant them a license? My understanding is maybe you can add another user directory connector where these users are loaded through a Excel file, and then write a user access rule? Would that work?

Hi there

Have you tried unticking the 'Sync user data for existing users' option under User Directory Connectors -> <Your Active Directory Connection> -> Edit -> USER SYNC SETTINGS? After this you should be able to sync the connector and get all users.

If you want to create a rule to then assign a license you could maybe assign licenses to users from your directory automatically. I.e. user.userDirectory= "Your Directory"

Caution disabeling "USER SYNC SETTINGS" like previous comment suggested, if you have thousands of users and attributes, it will pull everyone from AD, this will degrade QMC performance. If you have specific 300 users, then you can create LDAP filter:

Good point Gio. It obviously depends on the AD size and complexity.
