Is there a way to prevent Qlik Sense Enterpreise Timeouts?

Hi,

I've been using Qlik June 2019 version, but I've been getting "connection timeout error". I've put websocketpinginterval to 60 seconds, is there a way to prevent this kind of timeout? Any suggestions are appreciated

Thank you!

Dear runhunhes,

Have a look at the following documentation entry:

Title: Editing a virtual proxy
URL: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/June2018/Subsystems/ManagementConsole/Content/edit-virtual-proxy.h...

You should increase the Session inactivity timeout (minutes).

Thanks,

Hi, thank you for the reply!

It was 1440 minutes already, and the timeout happens after 5 minutes, do you know what else it might be?

Thank you!

As per KB 000049106 (URL: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000049106😞

Qlik Sense should not terminate a session earlier than configured in the Virtual Proxy (default is 30 minutes), and when it does the error message would be different:

'Your session has timed out. Log back in to Qlik Sense to continue.'

In this case, if the connection is being lost and it is occurring sooner than configured in the virtual proxy then this indicates that either:

1. The client is terminating the websocket connection prematurely
2. A network appliance acting on behalf of the client (load-balancer or reverse proxy) is terminating the websocket connection prematurely

The following components can interfere with configuration done on the Sense side (URL: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000020386😞

- Browser Timeouts
- Firewall Disconnects
- Mobile Devices (iOS) closing network connection when losing focus/locking screen
- Proxy Timeouts (3rd Party software used for Internet Access)
- Web Shields (such as Avast Antivirus)

Thanks,
iLiAS

Hi Runhunhes,

Did you find the root-cause for your timeout issue?

Thanks,

Hello,

Looking at the screenshot, it looks like it's the WebSocket connection that is timing out.

Since Qlik Sense June 2019 is not yet release I assume you are running Qlik Sense June 2018 right?

I saw that you tried using the websocketpinginterval flag but this functionality has been introduced in Qlik Sense June 2018 Patch1 so you will need to apply the patch to make it work.

Hope this helps!
