Migration path Qlik 3.2 sr2 (2008r2) to latest version on 2016 server.

Hello,

What steps do i need to take when i want to move from Qlik sense Server 3.2 sr2 (synchronized persistence) on a win2008r2 to a new server on 2016 std with latest version of Qlik.

1 I did a full backup data of the old server. (with Veeam) and for ease (programdata / QVD's / pSQL_dump)

2 Should i install 3.2 SR 2 on the new server / check if it works and then upgrade to June 2017 and so on?

or is there a quicker way like installing newest version in importing all data?

I hope somebody has the experience to help me.

Fastest might be to export the apps in the old environment, install the newest release on the new server and then import the apps on the newest release on the new server. If you have lots of reload tasks then that might not be true.

The answer is that the sequence doesn't matter. I'd approach things as:

• Migrate: https://qliksupport.force.com/articles/000028631
• Validate
• Upgrade
  • You'll probably hit https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/September2018/Subsystems/PlanningQlikSenseDeployments/Content/Sens...

You certainly can export > import. It's not very complex but will take a fair amount of time.
