Qlik Sense is running out of memory/low memory

Hi All,

Qlik sense engine is consuming more memory due to which we are facing low memory issue .

-Jobs are getting failed on QMC when there is low memory , but not happening on all the days ,( but very often these days)

-When we login to Qliksense server, we could see a pop up '  Computer is running on low memory' and if we check performance, Qlik sense engine is consuming more memory.

-Even we checked the monitoring apps, we can see statistics that RAM consumption of Qlik sense engine is more.

Now, we want to produce proofs to our business to increase RAM on machine.  Could you please suggest/advise on how to collect the logs/statistics  and why Qlik sense engine is consuming more memory  these days.  Please note that we did not deploy any huge applications into server in recent time and not sure why there is a sudden hike.

RAM installed on server is 160GB and it is a dedicated Qlik server.

Regards,

Ravi

Hi

The native Qlik Sense monitoring apps are very handy for collating usage stats and history: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/June2019/Subsystems/Monitoring/Content/Sense_Monitoring/Introducti...

If there is a sudden unexpected spike in memory - I would first be looking at any recent coding changes that may have affected the data model.  Someone could have made a "small" change that created an outer or cartesian join or perhaps a database change on things like date format, the changing of the time of any scheduled tasks may be affected by further changes upstream.

Go back through any recent changes and check/test them. It is a just a process of elimination.
