Qliksense Backup

We are upgrading from Qliksense June 2018 to Nov 2018 release. I know for upgrade I can just run the Nov 2018 release and get it updated but just in case if something falls through I need to  create a back up first. I tried following the QLik Sense Backup Instructions from the Qlik wesbite but facing the below issue.

As per the Qlik instructions  I need to navigate here

%ProgramFiles%\Qlik\Sense\Repository\PostgreSQL\<database version>\bin.

The problem I have is I dont have the Repository at that location mine is

ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\PostgreSQL\<database version>\I don see the bin file.

What do I need to do to create the Back up. What am I missing here ?

Hi,

Qlik also support installing postgre on a separate server. (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/February2018/Subsystems/PlanningQlikSenseDeployments/Content/Deplo...)

Does your installation have something similar?

Hi Azmeerrehan

You should not go to ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\PostgreSQL\

You should go to:

C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Repository\PostgreSQL\9.6\bin

Note  "Program Files"  not  ProgramData

(9.6 may be 9.3 or some other version)

you can install PgAdmin4 and take back up of the repository Database using pg admin.

Once you open the pgadmin, right click on the QSR, select Backup, Select SQL_ASCII, Select Role name as QlikSense Repository.

The Database Backup will be available under Documents folder.
