Sense Server install on AWS - Issues

Doing a custom install of Sense Server on AWS Windows 2012 R2 Server that has all ports open or the firewall is not active as this machine is an internal server right now, part of the domain network.

The QMC could not be started as a "500 Internet Error" was received on the browser window. My question is does the https port or port 443 need to activated or setup on the firewall?

The one option that was changed during the install was the path directory was changed from c:\.... to d:\.... So only the drive letter as the rest of path remained the same.

The other issue that was noticed was that the PostgreSQL data still was installed on the c drive which is not something our IT group likes to see as the only want the OS on the c drive. Any ideas on how we get all of Sense to install on D drive only?

Thanks,

Tony

In regards to the issue of the QMC not opening, the next step was to create a certificate. A certificate was created and the install continued as the QMC opened to allows the input of the licencing information.

The problem remains that the HUB page can not be opened on the local machine but can be opened using a web browser on another machine.

Possible this is an issue with AWS. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

We observed the same on AWS when using the internal hostname of the machine locally. However By using localhost it works for some reason...

Hi Tony,

sorry for the delay of responding to your question. What is the current status within your environment ? Are you still having the same issue ? Which URL are you trying to use when opening hte Hub locally on your AWS instance ? But you can still access the Hub from any other client outside of AWS, right ?

Best regards,

Thomas

HI Thomas,

This project was ended and the client stayed with and continues to use their QlikView platform.

Thank you for the response.
