Settings.ini not used by engine

Hello,

I've encountered the following problem:

when AAALR(63.312046) is greater than 1.000000, we suggest using new row applicator to improve time and mem effeciency.

And applied the suggestion of: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000019323

Though I couldn't find a settings.ini at C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Engine I created one on my own, following the steps of the article.

So my settings.ini looks like this:

[Settings 7]
DisableNewRowApplicator=0

With a blank line below the NewRow applicator value.

However in the log files the error keeps occuring, meaning the NewRowApplicator is not used.

Any idea why engine isn't using the settings.ini?

Thanks.

Hello,

I'll assume that you've restarted the engine after adding the instruction on every node you have in your installation?

You can also try to add another instruction to settings.ini (https://support.qlik.com/articles/000006907)

  • SELOG_AAALR=0 to disable the log message ;). It doesn't "fix" the issue but can help check if your settings file is indeed somehow omitted after restart.

As stated in the article if you don't see major performance downgrade from the issue it can be disregarded.

Yes, service was taken down before and restarted after setting up the file.

I'll try your suggestion, thanks.

I have a couple of pivot-tables that take quite long to load because of the aggregations that's why I try to improve perfomance.
