Upgrading from user&login licensing model to professional&analyzer license model

Most of our customers are using the old user&login license model and many are asking to migrate to the new license model.

What we have seen is that applying the new lef with professional&analyzer token removes old allocations and we need to reassign tokens to users. While it is not a problem when the old license has 5 tokens it could be an issue when using dozens or hundreds of tokens.

Did someone else get into the same issue?

You are right.

The licence model is "completely" different, moving from Tokens model to Professional or Analyzer-licenses.

When your clients are  converting their licenses from one system to another through a more or less standarized commercial deal/agreement with Qlik, but technically they are handled differently by Qlik Sense.

If you are operating with hundreds of tokens you probably have license allocation rules in place. It won't be to much of an effort to transform these rules into allocating the new licenses. If you they have assigned tokens manually then it will be a bit more hands on assigning the new tokens.

If you do need a reference point (e.g. big environment, many rules) then here's an app which will query the relevant QRS endpoints. In a multi-node side you will want to toy with some of the hostnames where I am using WITH CONNECTION but that's simple enough.

Like Vegar says you probably have allocation rules if you have many users.
But there is an additional issue with converting from Tokens to Professional/Analyzer.
With Tokens you can accommodate many users using Login Access getting 10 logins per Token and 28 day period.
Can't do with Professional/Analyzer, all Tokens are converted to Professional and then you have to add Analyzer licensen to get up to your previous number of users.
Could be costly if you have many Login Access Tokens.

Yes, we are aware of the issue in case of massive using login access pass and we always make conscious our customer of that. Currently we don't have many customers using login access pass.
