What is Classed as inactivity for the QlikSense timeout

So what is classed as activity (or inactivity) to trigger the timeout (default 30m).

In particular creating a data load script, ie if user is typing and dragging script sections is that activity, or do they need to save or run the script within the 30m

Sorry for the weird way of asking

Barry

Hey Barry,

It's going to be websocket traffic. See this video for a reference point using Chrome to validate that this activity is occurring: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T41NCaa6oig

In this specific scenario where a user is doing scripting in the Data Load Editor, it is known that simple typing is not engaging with the Engine. All that activity is occurring client side in the browser and any interactions are powered by client side JavaScript.

In the short-term, saving will trigger Engine activity which will reset the counter for the Virtual Proxy timeout. Long-term, do ping your partner manager and reference enhancement request 1775 / Better handling of timeout when in the Data Load Editor (it's in our internal system which there is no external exposure, unfortunately).

Hope that helps.

Thanks again for your insight Levi.   Basically what we thought and responded to our customer but they wanted more detail on what is non activity, this clarifies our thinking...
