Pivot Table Importing - Qlik Sense

What do I do if my excel table has empty values, rows and includes aggregates?

This, to the Set-Analysis averse or novice user, can be a tricky prospect.

I build out a simple build-load example on Sales data to help you navigate the components typical to this exercise

The data has three problems which I walk you through:

  1. There are Product Orders in blocks within the table without a proper Customer name for values outside of the first value.  This is a common problem for merged or printed excel files.
  2. My data set contains aggregates at various levels, including a grand total, which could present the problem of double-counting for certain values.
  3. There are empty rows in the data set, which while not being a problem, should be removed.

I hope this helps some of you out there who have been struggling with populating the empty rows, or dealing with very high numbers. This should do the trick
