This article provides the direction on how to approach Error 500 - Internal server error issue for Qlik Sense.

Environment: 

Qlik Sense any version 

 

Resolution:

 

  • Check if any 3rd party software/process is running and interfere port 443.
  • Check if Qlik Sense Certificate is correctly installed e.g. If the host name you specified during the Qlik Sense installation is different from actual machine name, it can be a problem. See How to recreate or just delete certificates in Qlik Sense for possible assistance with certificates. 
  • Check if regional settings are causing strange date/time issues on the server. For example, in one case, using Thailand regional settings caused the server machine datetime year to show 2561 instead of 2018. Resolving that issue & restarting the server resolved this issue

  • Check if the service account you are running is satisfying the system requirements. These can be verified on the official help site for the relevant version of the product. 
  • Check if server is pending the installation of Windows updates. Carry through with the pending update and restart the host.
