Hello Qlik Users!

I hope you are all doing well!

Yesterday, I blogged the new releases for Qlik Sense Patch Wednesday. After the announcement, a few users reported an error when installing Qlik Sense June 2020 Patch 1. Users have reported the following error:

Update failed: Ensure that Qlik Sense June 2020 is installed before you install Qlik Sense June 2020 Patch 1.

Qlik Support and R&D investigated the issue and it was found that the Qlik Sense June 2020 GA installer had the incorrect build number, causing June 2020 Patch 1 to error out during the installation. The Qlik Sense June 2020 GA installer with the correct build number is now available on the Qlik download site.

For those that have Qlik Sense June 2020 GA version 13.82.3 installed, please download the new Qlik Sense June 2020 Patch 1. This new patch will allow you to upgrade version 13.82.3 to 13.82.6 instead of having to uninstall/reinstall the GA release.

As with all software, please follow best practices when installing and/or upgrading by backing up your Qlik Sense environment and testing in a QA environment first. For more guidance on installing Qlik Sense, see the Qlik Sense Installation Guide. upgrade, see the Qlik Sense Upgrade guide. This guide was put together by the Qlik Digital Support team and offers step-by-step instructions, pictures and troubleshooting tips.

We apologize for any inconvenience this issue causes.

c'mon guys. this is not the first such mistake. A couple years earlier there was already the same problem. Please check and double-check before release. We hope for a high quality product and in fact we have to conduct multiple additional checks after all new the release. And I'm not talking about the fact that the September version in general should be skipped. I don’t know what affects, summer, heat or the vacation period, but September releases are not advisable to install, there are always had a lot of problems.

for example Qlik_Sense_June2020_IR.exe Qlik_Sense_November2019_U3.exe
It would be very convenient. thank

Hi,

I know that in a general way, we need to wait before installing an IR release, but why do not fix the PAtch1 instead of republishing an IR release wich was already installed on many systems ...

Now, I will need to reinstall many nodes over the week-end.

Thx and rgds

If a user has  version 13.82.3 - can they upgrade to the correct version 13.82.4 without re-installing?

Thanks

@Jamie_Gregory

What do you mean with "Reinstall June 2020 GA"? Should I backup the repository and apps, uninstall June 2020 GA, install the new June 2020 version and then restore the repo and apps?

Is this really neccessary? Is there not an easier way to correct the initial version that I've installed?

Thanks,

Steven

Sounds like an awful lot of work for us because of a silly typo by you. 5 seconds to make the typo, 1+ hour for every install already done.

... Unless you are going to pay us for all those consulting hours of course.

Isn't that version number editable in some easy way in all the already done June 2020 installs? Some 1 minute edit to fix your 5 seconds typo?

Why can't you just republish a new Patch1 which will accept 13.82.3 as initial release and fix the gaps between 13.82.3 and target13.82.6 (patch1 )  ?

We are working on providing a patch build based on 13.82.3. For our users that already installed June 2020 GA 13.82.3 can use this build. Stay tuned for the update
