All licenses unassigned

Hello,

last friday we had a weird issue in our QV server: Windows Server 2012, QV Server 11.2 SR9.

Suddenly all licenses (Named and Document) appear unassigned, and all documents have 0 licenses assigned to them.

We manually reassigned them to the documents and everything was working after a while, but, has anybody suffered this issue before, and does anypnes know the reason of this behaviour?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

There is a patch for 11.20 SR12 that should fix the issue.

However, you will need to contact support to get the link for the patch.

In this incidence I have no idea why it happened. You need to check Win and QV logs. Have had incidences where the .pgo files becomes corrupt resulting  the same as you. Have solved it with backing those files up every night so they easily can be transferred back when needed.

Hi Salto,

I have this happen before when the pgo files have become corrupted, but could never pinpoint the root cause of it happening i'm afraid, as Michael says good to take a backup of these on a regular basis

Hi Salto,

I have a sneaky feeling that this is a BUG, I'd contact QLIK to confirm.

Some times ago I had have a similar case server-licence lost and think that Michael123 and JoeSimmons are right that corrupt pgo-files caused this and a regulary backup is a good idea.

One possibility to check if there are (unexpected) changes within the pgo-files could be to load these pgo-files with a timestamp into a qvw. Within the server settings there is an option pgoasxml which created the pgo-files additionally as xml-files.

Hi Andrew,

Have you confirmed if this case is a bug?  I have had this problem in 3 different companies and I have not found solution. We thought maybe the antivirus program corrupted this pgo files, but it isn't.

Hello Andrew

Same here, both licenses and server objects suddenly were missing. Any resolution or workaround to know what is the reason?

Regards

Julian
