Browser white screen to display a Loading Message/Spinning Wheel, while a QVW/App is opened from Access Point

Hi All,

When a QVW/QlikView App is opened on a new tab/Browser from Access Point, a White Page is displayed until the App is fully loaded. If the App is large in size it takes 2-3 minutes to launch the App completely.

Can we manually add a Loading Message/Spinning Wheel on the White Screen to avoid confusion for the Users to let them know that App is loading up? Something can be done in QvAjax JS file in WebServer?

This is in QlikView April 2020 SR3 12.50.

Any ideas/suggestions should be helpful.

Hello ,

1. You could preload the documents that take the longest to load and frequently used.

2. If you have multiple Publisher servers , you could load specific app only on one server.

3. If you need to contact your account manager for a platform review and work to optimize your environment.

4. Also the customization would be a feature request.

Hi,

The version you are on is out of support. However, 12.60 has the wheel now in the access point.

Hello ,

1. Are the applications that are affected large in size?

2. Do the affected applications use sections access?

3. You can try to preload the applications that are affected. This is done via the reload process.

@dmohanty  This request will likely require customizing the Qlikview Accesspoint.  This sounds like a feature request which you can submit see link below.

@Ray_Strother  - thank you for the questions. Below are the answers.

1. Are the applications that are affected large in size?

  • Yes, they are holding 3 years of data and are in 2-4 GB of sizes.

2. Do the affected applications use sections access?

  • Yes all the QVWs have Section Access.

3. You can try to preload the applications that are affected. This is done via the reload process.

  • Preloading can be tried (in QMC?). But we have 100+ QVWs and to have them in Preload (from QMC) could be trouble in always occupying the Memory.
