Business has 2 sites need multiple users to connect remotely

Hi All

The scenario I'm facing is we currently have a site A with a qlikview server with 120 users all connecting via the local domain, QVS v9 rev6, using IIS and the IE plugin.

We're in the process of taking over another business that is on another site B, the problem I'm faced with is that there will be 60 + users on the site B that need to connect to the Qlikview server located on Site A?

Please can anyone advise on the simplest way to accoplish this and still retain decent performance for the remote users?

Many thanks

Dominic

hi Dominic,

more depends on the network than on qlikview. The users from the new site will have to be able to "see" your server, that is be able to see through your firewall into the the domain in which your server is sitting. If you are using NT authentification there will need to be a trusted domain setup.

the plugin is (very) sensitive to network glitches so bandwidth is important. But given that you only have two (big) sites to be connected I'm sure the network people will be putting together a decent package.

Basically I'd leave the qv server(s) where they are, make sure there is good network connectivity, the domains are trusted, the new users can see the sarvers ( most of this goes hand in hand).

good luck.
