hi QVS,

Yesterday i was working in server i just Put the QVW file in reload n i walked away

today when i am trying to open it , showing failed to open whts the prbm plz reply me fast

If qvw fail there is not much to do ... it is lost ... sorry to say, hope you have a backup!

Lohitha,

Try changing the easter egg settings in qlikview. Follow the steps

1) Open your Corrupted QlikView Application.
2) Click on Help Option.
3) A List appears, Select About QlikView.
4) A Dialog Box Opens up, see on the Extreme Left Hand Side (Bottom) you'll find a Qlikview Logo.
5) Right Click on the Qlikview Logo, a Settings Window displays.
6) Scroll the List downwards & Select "ApplicationRescue".
7) Set the Value '1' in place of '0' in the 'Value' input Box Below.
😎 Finally, Click on Set Button.

After doing all these steps, Close your Corrupted Application and again open it. It may work.

Or you try opening the file without data. Launch QV and the .qvw via command prompt using the following syntax:

[ path ] Qv.exe documentfile  /nodata

[path] is the path to the QlikView executablefile.

Documentfile is the .qvw you want to open (with path) and /nodata is the instruction to open it without the data.

the first way is not working "easter egg settings in qlikview"

Hi Shankarece,

But u cannot open the QVW without data if have not opened it recently .

For that u can try  RIGHT Qlik.  PFA Attachement and install it . when u right click on any qvw u will get a option right qlik> without data.

this right qlik option will be visible only for qvw files.

1. Open a Windows Command Prompt
2. Launch QlikView Desktop client with the /nodata switch;
   C:\Program Files\QlikView\qv.exe /nodata C:\QlikVew\SourceDocs\qvd_generator.qvw
3. Save the document with a new name, and continue work from this new copy of the file
