Dear experts,
I´m new to Qlik and therefore I do not have much experience with the tool. We are running a QlikView Server and figureds out, that there is an old server listed under QMC->Status->Services (I attached a sreenshot "Status-Services).
If I check QMC->System->Setup, I can see, that the server is listed in folder "License Server" (see attachment "Setup_license server_2")
But if I check QMC->System->Licenses, there is no entry (see attachment "system_license_3")
My questions are:
- Is it possible to delete the unused server from the QlikView server and if yes, how can I do it?
- If I delete the server from QlikView server, would it cause any issue with the license service?
Would be great, if someone could help me,
Thx in advance
Hi @chr005,
Can you further clarify your request please? Is the QlikView Server instance not functioning? Are you not using one of the instances? From your screen captures, which is the unused QlikView Server you want to delete?
Best Regards
@chr005 so does that server no longer exist?
Hi, thx for your response
@David_Friend @Chip_Matejowsky
The QlikView server is in use. It is just to remove the server/the entry from the server list. The server that has been antered as license server is not longe rin use.
Hope, this helps.
thx

Hi again,
please see the attachement. I tried to explain the situation in a different way and I hope, this is useful for you.
I´m sorry, if I may not use the correct wording to expalin my problem, but as mentioned before, I´m quite new to Qlik.
Hope, you can help me.
Thx in advance
Dear Qlik support,
may I could ask, if someone has an idea how to remove the invalid entry of the shut down license server shown in the attahed pictures and Power Point from the QlikView server?
Thank you
HI,
this relates to my question. I´m still looking for a way to remove the entry from the QlikView Services list as shown in the picture and the .pptx posted before.
I´m searching the internet for a solution and if I use AI ( Copilot for example), I get the info that a server can easily be removed, if I navigate to system-> setup, choose the service and click on the red X on the far right to delete the server from the service.
My problem is, that, if I choose "License Service" from the list of available services, there is no red X to remove the server. (please see attached screenshot). If I choose a different service, I do see the red X. Does anyone have an idea, how to remove the server from the service without this option?
Hi @chr005,
Note that there must be a License Service installed and running to have a functioning QlikView Server environment. Which server in this environment is currently running the License Service?
If the server running the License Service is no longer in use, you can uninstall the License Service from this server via Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Best Regards
HI and thx for your response. The QlikView server is up and running, although we do not have a license server defiened. I think, this is because we use the LEF authentification (but maybe I´m wrong). As you can see in the attached pictures from the initial POST and as well in the .pptx file, the server I´d like to remove is disconnected (it doesn´t even exist anymore in our network) and not listed under System -> Licenses.
best regards
