Deploying Extensions to Server?

Hi all -

Having a little trouble deploying two extensions to our server.  I have opened the individual files and dragged the .qar files into them to install them, and then enabled them in Document Settings.  They have also been unzipped (.qar files renamed to .zip and then unzipped) and the resulting folders have been dropped into QlikviewServer\Extensions\Objects.  Unfortunately, they don't seem to work.  Any ideas?  Do we need to reload anything after doing this, or should the extensions be available immediately?  Thanks!

Try these... If not share those extensions i will test them out.

1. Double clicking on .QAR file will install the files under your User account. No need to rename to Zip.

Based on the extensions type it will be installed in "Document" or "objects" folder.

For Document Extensions:

C:\Users\<USERID>\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Document

For all other extension except Document:

C:\Users\<USERID>\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\objects

2. Copy the extension from above location to SERVER location.

Default location:

     C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Document           ----> For document extension

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\objects           ----> For all other extensions

If you are using ALTERNATE location other than Default location place them appropriately.

you can find the location by goign to "QMC --> System --> Setup --> Qlikview servers --> Folders

HI,

There are two types of extensions:

1) Document : Are installed into c:\Users\[youruser]\appdata\local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Document. They are activated into your Document Settings

2) Objects : Are installed into c:\Users\[youruser]\appdata\local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects. They are used as an usual object (graph or list box)

make sure you have installed extension on the below paths.

Windows 7:

    C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects

    C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Document

Windows XP:

    C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects

    C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Document

Windows Server 2008:

    C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects

    C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Document

Windows Server 2003:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Document

Got it!  This worked - didn't know about the difference between document and object extensions.  Thank you very much!

Hi Phaneendra,

I am having issue viewing google maps extension in accesspoint. it works fine in my desktop and in server desktop when I turn on the webview. But doesn't seem to be appearing in the accesspoint. I have followed the above steps of copying it from root folder to server extension folder, still doesn't seem to be working. I am also attaching the extension that I am using can you please test it and let me know?

Thanks in advance
