Distorted Date coming while assigning License in QMC

Hi All ,

Hope you all are doing good and thanks for your time.

Facing two issues :

1) There are 40 users for the Dashboard out of which few are not able to access access point (IE/ Chrome) and few are ,the error message they are getting is : Failed to open, you dont have access to this document although they have Named CAL assigned to them .

2) While allocating Named CAL to a new user, the date format is getting distorted as it is getting displayed in 'MM/DD/9999' format.

PFB snapshot for the same :

I restarted all the services but seems no luck on this.

Please let me know if there is any way out to this issue .

Thanks,

Gargi

Adding a Named CAL to users does not relieve you from doing the proper distribution. I'm assuming you have a Publisher license, so add those new users that need access to specific documents to the distribution list of the corresponding document tasks. Next reload and distribute those documents.

If your server is running in DMS mode, you have a shortcut: open the User Documents->Document->Authorization tab and add the new users in order to grant them access immediately. Of course, this temporary modification will be overwritten by the next distributrion.

These weird times may be caused by either those users not having used their Named CALs yet, or by the QMC operator not having pressed the Apply button yet.

Thanks Peter for the instant reply .

We dont have Licenses for Qlikview Publisher , so we provide CAL through Qlikview Server . The users who are not able to access Access Point were able to access it on 25-Apr but issue started on 26-Apr onward. Absolutely no clue for the reason .

Thanks,

Without Publisher, the issue can be caused by either:

  • Section Access restrictions. Are you using Section Access?
  • Insufficient NTFS permissions. If your QVS is not running in DMS mode, access rights for documents are governed by NTFS. On the server, check the QVW file permissions in Windows Explorer.

The best technique to test whether a particular user is allowed to access a document, is by opening Windows Explorer, selecting the document, opening Properties->Security->Advanced and navigating to the Effective Permissions tab. There you select the account name of the user you want to check. The list below the account selection field will reflect all file permissions assigned to or inherited by that user.

Best,

Peter

Thanks Peter for your time.

No we dont have the section access tho that dashboard.

The issue got resolved by -> the parent folder -> properties -> security -> Everyone . Seems there were some changes in security.
