Hi all,
Context: We are running an enterprise solution and exploring if we can use an external text file to store all DB connection details (unencrypted) for our various QVWs to read against and authenticate from.
We managed to implement the above but the problem is that the external text file is not protected and poses a security risk (anyone who gains access to it will know all the DB connection details). The external text file and QVWs all reside in a windows server (2012 R2).
Does anyone know of any best practices to encrypt/protect this external text file while still allowing the QVW to read from it using Include File?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
See if this helps you: https://www.quickintelligence.co.uk/qlikview-include-files/
Maybe some of these postings could be applicable in your use-case: https://community.qlik.com/search.jspa?q=load+encrypt.
