Does anyone have examples / reports of data from the Governance dashboard. I am really only concerned with User Activity. For example, when was the last time someone logged in, how often they logged in...things along those lines.
Is there anyway to see what objects or sheets are clicked on the most?
The governance dashboard shows the user activity, which concerns you. You only need to enable Audit Log in the QEMC.
You can also build your own QV report to show those statistics. They are in the the session log file
[\\..\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\QVS\Sessions_ServerName.log]
But the Governance Dashboard is much more powerful than my report (whichy I built before the Governance Dashboard was released!
The best way to check if the Governance Dashboarrd fits your needs is to download and install - it's free (as far as I know) and a powerful tool.
Regards,
can you define where exactly I need to enable the Audit Log, QEMC?
The QEMC (or QMC) is the QlikView Management Console:
You nned to go to System -> Setup -> Management Service -> Qlikview Servers- > Choose the server -> Logging
And there, check the "Enable Audit Logging" option.
Hope this helps.
thanks! Just enabled audit logging, i will see what this data has to offer.
Would you happen to know if a field is available in the Governance Dashboard that captures when an object is selected? I am trying to get numbers on which objects (charts, tables) are clicked on the most...
Yes, it is. Have a look at the "What's New Technical Brief", available in the Governance Dashboatd main page:
www.qlik.com/en/explore/products/governance-dashboard
Hopr this helps.
i reviewed the PDF but still cant seem to find a field that represents the count of how many times an object is selected. I am trying to find out our most popular sheets and objects...is this doable?
Hello Steve,
as far as I know, you can track the user activity in sheets and objects in the Statistic -> User Activity -> Audit Log, but I cannot see a counter on the chart.
What you can do in that chart is right click on it and choose "Send to Excel". You can then add counters in the Excel sheet obtained.
Hope this helps!
I would like to know if I could identify from the User Activity from Audit log downloaded files stored in a temp folder
