Hello ,

I depends on how you are granting permissions:

1. NTFS uses windows permissions
2. DMS user permission are stored in the Meta files. (add/ remove users)
3. If Section Access is enabled , the table will need to be adjusted
4. If individual users or groups are used for permissions ( NTFS) add/remove users

In addition to Ray's comment have a look at the Qlik Help entries on Authentication and Authorization.

Start by checking in the QlikView Management Console (QMC) > System > Setup > QlikView Servers > QVS@ > Security tab to see what you have configured for Authorization.

  • If using NTFS, then Windows controls the permissions and you would remove permissions by using Windows File Explorer to navigate to the QVW/QVF file, select properties and edit the permissions as desired.
  • If using DMS, then QlikView controls the permissions and you would remove permissions in QMC > Documents > User Documents > document_name.qvw (select the QVW) > Authorization tab > edit permissions as desired.

Hi,

Can you provide more information on what you are trying to do?  Ray and Chip are correct if you are trying to stop someone from viewing it in the Access Point. If you are trying to stop someone from get a copy of the QVW and opening there is Section Access.

More information would help.

If you are using a publisher you  have to change the permissions in the document as well, like @Chip_Matejowsky explained above.

Otherwise the publisher will change the permissions back when the document is distributed.
