I'm in the process of setting up my mail server under the system>setup>mail server section. I have placed my host name under the host name.I try to send the test email to myself.But it is showing this error msg " The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated".
I think your publisher server needs to be white-listed. So kindly ask system administrator (who is responsible for the qlikview servers) regarding this issue. They will guide you.
you need to know your SMTP server's IP address or name, and the SMTP port (which by default is 25). Then, you need a valid usernmae and password that will let you send emails from that SMTP server.
If you do not have that information ask your system administrator, or your contact in Office 365, they may help you.
Check with you IT people and see if they will accept mail on port 25. This is normally not a secure connection and more poeple are blocking it. The bad news is that QlikView doesn't support secure connection. Attach is a document that will show you how to use a secure connection.

The issue is very easy: open the file C:\Program Files\QlikView\Management Service\QVManagementService.exe.config with a editor and Set UseSSLForSMTP set to 'True' . Then restart Qlikview Management Server. Ciao
