IE Plugin Qlikview 12 performance issue

Hi,

One of our clients has complained that since we installed the Qlikview IE plugin opening a doc and working inside of a doc has become very slow.

So just to test we have installed 2 testservers (server 2008 R2 & server 2012 R2) on our amazon cloud. After the configuration and port forwarding we tried to connect with a few clients to the access point of this server and opening a doc.

Strangely enough we are having the same problem?! Slow loading of the docs ans clicking inside of a doc takes a lot of seconds till it reacts.

I read a lot of things on the community and to be clear, the port 4747 is definitely open! I can do a succesful telnet and in Wireshark i see that when opening the Qlikview doc my clients are talking to my server through port 4747

What can be another problem why we are having a very slow responce and opening time on all of our docs in the access point?

Just to inform, the Full browser version is working fine . !!

Thank you for the help!

Regards

Hi Christian,

Downgrading to QV 11.20 will not be a solution, i've tried it without luck.

Meanwhile after i have published this tread i have had contact with some Qlik developers about this issue.

There answer was not so promising...

Apparently there is a known compatible issue with the IE plugin. They advised me to use the plugin only with IE 8 or IE 11 ( other versions of IE will provide problems ). The IE plugin will NOT be supported by Windows 10 anymore, in fact as they told me, it will disappear for Windows 10 in the future.

They strongly advised me to use the Full browser AJAX version instead.

Hope this helps you?

We have the same problem with QlikView 12 and Plugin.

The server is located in Germany. Our subsidarys in the USA and Canada - each are connected via a 2 Mbps leased line - complain of a very poor performance. Working with IE plugin is not possible in practice. With QlikView 11.20 SR1 the performance was ok.

If there is no other solution, we will do a downgrade to Qv 11.20 SR 13.

I suggest looking at other solutions, like AJAX client.

IE is dropped by Microsoft so it doesn't make sense for Qlik to support IE Plugin anymore....

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your answer. Problem is that we have been working for 4 years with Qlikview and the IE plugin and for us the plugin has some features we need, but wich are not present in Ajax.

So, it will be very difficult to convince the user to use Ajax.

I thought so, that the downgrade means a reinstallation of the QlikView environment.

But on this way we gain time and we can prepare the user slowly on it.

Thanks and regards

Christian

i'm faced with same problem.

QlikView 12 as clien and QlikView 12 plug-in works slowly then QV 11.20 with QV server 11.20 and 12 version.

This bug fixed in QlikView 12 sr3

This happens when you install a newer QVPlugin on top of an existing version.  There is some sort of conflict.  Remove all instances of the plugin and reinstall.

Uninstall QvPlugin

Remove folders/files

o C:\Program Files (x86)\QlikView

o C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech

o C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\QlikTech

o C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\QlikTech Installations

o C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech

o C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\QlikViewPlugin.wil

Reinstall QvPlugin

Could be the case, but as korsikov noted the release notes for SR3 call this out as a bug fix
