Issue in alerts using QlikView Desktop

Hi Team,

Have an alert setup in QlikView Desktop, but recently not work, the setup is:

1 - Condition

2 - Events is On Post Reload

3 - Trigger Level is Message Changes:

4 - Mode, not have anything (is right?)

5 - Message is dynamic

6 - Mail Subject is plain text

7- Mail Recipients have various email and is a semi-colon separated

I validated the setup Mail server on QMC and the test mail is functional, but the alerts not work.

Thanks for your help!!

You need to pick one or both modes...

Also iircDesktop alerts don't actually use anything from QMC. You have to make sure the email definitions are correctly set in the QV Desktop client (User Preferences / Mail)

@FelipeRios23 can you share some screenshots of your setup?and like Or said, if this purely in QV Desktop then it needs to have an email server configured...

How to determine the right mode please, and what service executes the alert and where to see the logs?

I understand in case of Qlik View Desktop, the process that execute the alert is the QVB.

Thanks a lot

If you are running from QMC, you need to use Batch mode.

  • Mode: In the Mode group you can check the relevant options in order to define an alert as an Interactive (automatic triggers in layout) and/or as an alert relevant for external programs running QlikView in Batch mode (command line execution), e.g. QlikView Publisher, via the special Automation API for Batch triggers. If none of the check boxes in this group are marked, the alert can still be manually checked via macros.
